Under the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract, our 110-member team delivers the full breadth of IT services, including infrastructure engineering and operations, software development and maintenance, cyber security, enterprise architecture support, and document processing. We have an immediate opening for a Senior Infrastructure Architect who can provide functional, technical and business requirements analysis and subject matter expertise related to modernizing information technology and organizational business processes that involve integrating hardware and software components and replacing end-of-life technology, all the while maintaining the Agency s business operations with minimal disruption. Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Contribute towards market research, CPICs, technical solutions, alternative analysis/DAR, cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies and basis of estimates Design and develop various on-premise, commercial, and cloud architectures Conduct Agile-based pilots, proof of concepts, and R&D efforts for large enterprise level infrastructure implementations Effectively supports team and others through knowledge sharing and collaboration Successfully serves as point of authority and/or source of technical knowledge Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or equivalent with at least 10 years recent hands-on experience in the related field with 5 years directly applicable design experience on IT Infrastructure, data network technology, and security standards (NIST, FISMA etc.,) Security+ certification required, CCIE is desired (other relevant security certifications may be considered) Extensive knowledge of data network technology and solutions in a Cisco infrastructure Experience with Cisco ACI (Application Centric Integration) technology implementation Experience with data center technology (UCS, VMWare, MDS Switches and Storage) planning, design, and support Experience with project and/or team management Systems Engineering Skills: Experience with network design, implementation and support of network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers(F5), proxy servers and wireless infrastructure Extensive knowledge of data center technologies, infrastructure and methodologies Extensive knowledge of Cisco routers and switches and related network hardware Enterprise knowledge of wireless technology, standards and industry trends Virtualization environment - VMware Cloud Services: AWS, ADFS, O365, AD, Azure, Windows Azure disaster site recovery Design, Configuration, and Management F5 Services: VPN, APPS, external DNS security Other services: SQL, VMware, PKI and Enterprise Architecture Tier 4 as support for Infrastructure, Enterprise IT Systems and Business Systems Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication Server Installation, configuration, and management In-depth knowledge of IP routing and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP preferred) Strong background with LAN and WAN protocols (Spanning Tree, HSRP, MPLS, Frame Relay, DSL, Ethernet, 802.1q) Knowledge of ACL's Extensive experience with network management platforms and protocols such as SNMP, RMON, Solar Winds, NetFlow Possess the ability and demonstrated experience to proactively monitor and manage Networks for faults and performance exceptions Preferred Qualifications: Must have good time management discipline, and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong presentation and facilitation skills Must be self-motivated and able to work independently while also coordinating project work and support functions with other team members Good analytical, problem solving, decision-making, attention to detail, customer service, interpersonal and communication skills WHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU Autonomy, career mobility, challenging work, and team environment GDIT CAREERS Opportunity Owned Discover more at www.gdit.com/careers #GDITpriority Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Travel Required: Less than 10% Telecommuting Options: Some Telecommuting Allowed Work Location: USA DC Washington Additional Work Locations: We are GDIT.
