PRIMARY FUNCTION:Pharmacy technician assigned to an Outpatient Pharmacy location.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Ability to enter patient information and prescription orders in the pharmacy computer system, paying particularattention to drug, dose, route, frequency, refills, date, quantity, third party and other required information* Completes tasks in the prescription dispensing workflow (eg data entry, product dispensing, etc.) under the directsupervision of pharmacist.* Understands limitations of scope of practice and demonstrates ability to escalate clinical concerns to the pharmacist on-duty.* Able to follow policies and defined processes to assist the pharmacist-on-duty.* Demonstrates ability to navigate the prescription insurance coverage plans to successfully adjudicate prescriptionclaims.* Understands concepts of inventory management and proper storage of pharmaceuticals.* Provides exceptional customer service skills to all internal and external customers* Actively participates as a member of the team and department to get the work completed* Possess and maintain skills to execute outpatient pharmacy clinical and operational initiates (eg MedicationTherapy Management (MTM), population health, disease management, patient education, medication dischargeplaning, medication reconciliation, Prescription Discharge Program, Specialty Medication Patient ManagementProgram)* Responsible for ensuring a favorable patient experience and acts as the primary contact for patientexperience issues in the retail pharmacy.* Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices;reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safetyviolations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.* Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required.* State Registration where applicable (Maryland Locations)* Minimum three years retail or mail order pharmacy management experience
