The MITRE Naval Aviation Systems Department s (P633) mission is to advance Naval Aviation solutions with urgency ensuring warfighter dominance against current and future adversaries in defense of our nation. This is accomplished by delivering timely, effective, and sustainable capabilities to ensure the warfighter s mission success and safe return home. P633 is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (preferably with Digital Engineering (DE) experience) who is highly motivated, creative, and self-directed. The candidate will execute System of Systems (SoS) and engineering Model Based Engineering (MBE)/ Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities & oversight. Desired SoS experience includes mission systems integration (radar systems, tactical communication, passive targeting, and sensor fusion), obsolescence/tech insertion upgrades, weapons integration, and ship integration for USN/USMC Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Desired DE experience includes Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Domain knowledge/experience incorporating the NAVAIR Cameo MBE/MBSE environment. The candidate may also serve as technical liaison and trusted advisor to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)/Headquarters Marine Corps to provide management for system interface requirements to NAVSEA Ship programs/USMC programs. Key Functions Analyzing complex systems-of-systems to provide actionable recommendations to USN/USMC sponsors. Systems engineering and integration Model based engineering (MBE)/Model Based systems Engineering (MBSE)/ DE Requirements development, analysis & traceability, requirements management Obsolescence and technical insertion planning Risk development & review Minimum Qualifications: BS and 5 years related experience Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances Required Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in a Scientific/Engineering Discipline 8 years engineering experience or three years practical application of systems architecting and MBE/MBSE/DE experience Good communication skills and ability to present highly technical material to a diverse audience Strong background in systems engineering, requirements development & management, and systems integration Demonstrated experience in performing analytical work Possess and maintain a DOD Secret level security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a technical discipline, such as Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Statistics, or Mathematics Experience with architecture frameworks, such as Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), and related modeling profiles, such as Unified Profile for DoDAF. Unmanned systems experience, preferably UAS technical details and operational environment Modeling and simulation Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Domain knowledge/experience to include MBE/DE environment (Cameo) and engineering processes Government/DOD experience with systems acquisition and development Possess and maintain a DOD Top Secret with SCI eligibility level security clearance MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
