Accounts Payable SpecialistHighPoint Digital, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with government contracting experience to join its Finance and Accounting team. The successful candidate can function independently and under tight deadlines, is highly detail oriented, can complete his/her assigned functions within the accounts payable processes with a high level of autonomy, and also works well with their team.This position is full time and located in Herndon, VA or Indianapolis, IN reporting to the Finance Manager.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS+ Experience with Costpoint Accounts Payable processing and Cognos reporting preferred+ Working knowledge of GAAP+ Ability to effectively communicate and positively interact with people both internal and external to the organization+ Experienced computer user, including strong proficiency with Excel and Word+ Able to meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy in work through keen attention to detail+ Act with integrity and always maintain confidentiality+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and a strong commitment to producing a quality work product are essentialJOB RESPONSIBILITIES+ Review and enter payables into Costpoint accounting system+ Process vendor invoices and expense reports with proper documentation+ Print, sort and ensure proper signatures on checks for mailing+ Set up new vendors and maintain vendor files+ Monitor organization-wide vendor W-9 submissions+ Manage the Accounts Payable Mailbox and conduct research and responses to Accounts Payable inquiries+ Prepare vendor 1099 forms+ Respond to accounting related questions from office staff regarding financial reports, and provide appropriate interpretation as necessary+ Maintain the organizational credit card program and reconcile the month end manual payment journal+ Work closely and in a timely manner with the bank to resolve any credit card issues experienced by staff members.+ Assist with the month end close accrual process+ Other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or 5-6 years relevant professional experience in lieu of education requirements+ 2-3 years of experience performing accounts payable for a government contractorABOUT HIGHPOINT: HighPoint is a growth-oriented firm that provides a unique, differentiated employee culture relative to our Federal market peers.
