Exceed your expectations today Join the XATOR team!Overview:A' Xator is seeking professional Audio/Visual (AV) Design Engineers with 5+ years' experience in the design, schematic preparation, integration, and test of complex audio visual systems.Work Environment:A' A' Full-time 40 hour week when assigned to a domestic location.A' A' Full-time 60 hour week when deployed overseas.Travel:A' A' This position requires approximately 40% travel to various overseas locations over a calendar year.A' A' Domestic travel may be required for training and coordination.Work Location:A' A' Alexandria, VA.Citizenship/Passport/Security Clearance:A' A' The candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TOPA' SECRETA' security clearance.A' Responsibilities:Consult with the client, Project Manager, and CADD Technician to design operations centers that integrate complex audio visual and security systems.Utilize controlled documentation and knowledge of government standards and application guides, International Building Codes, and National Electrical Codes to complete site surveys at international locationsProvide project status/updates to the respective Project Manager, Engineering Manager and/or clientDevelop specialized designs to include site and floor plans, riser diagrams, Bill of Materials, power/signal runs, schedules and details, and device schematicsDetermine the feasibility of utilizing standardized equipment and develop specifications with the capability of providing alternate solutions to unique engineering problemsDesign and study blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams and other specifications to determine design and installation proceduresIdentify the strengths and weaknesses of multiple systems for the design; plan or modify designs to minimize waste of materials; design easy access for future maintenance and design with cost mitigationInstallation of Crestron and Extron Video Distribution Systems, Planar Video Walls, and Crestron Control SystemsBuilding AV System RacksProgramming of Crestron Control Code, User Interface and Extron DSPs.Provide ender user trainingResponsible for IP Configuration of all AV devices residing on networkResponsible for redlining CAD documentation for as-built purposesEducation/Certifications:A' Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. Prior military training or 10 years relevant AV experience may be substituted for education. Other engineering disciplines will be considered based on the candidate's electrical/electronic knowledge.General CTS PreferredAbility to study and obtain CTS-I with in 3 years of taking positionSkills:A' Excellent oral and written communication skillsThe ability to work well under pressure with strict guidelinesProficient in MS Office with an understanding of AutoCADAbility to read blueprints and system wiring diagramsPossess and maintain an excellent understanding of A/V best practicesAbility to design infrastructure layouts, A/V control schematics, rack elevations and various details as neededHands-on experience with electronic security systems (ie access control, CCTV, intrusion detection)Basic network/telecommunications knowledge (fiber, CAT-5, RJ45 connectors)Previous experience with fiber optic installation practices, automated access control systems, intrusion detection systems, A/V systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, Planar), and CCTV is highly desirableSkilled in programming of audio DSP units from multiple vendorsCrestron/AMX programming experienceUnderstand basic IP NetworkingLikes to travelAble to multi-taskAbility to convey technical viewpoints to non-technical personnelEqual Opportunity StatementXator Corporation, and its Subsidiaries, provides equal opportunity to all applicants for employment as required by and/or consistent with applicable country law and company policy.
