SEIU Benefits FundsJob Title:Contributions Compliance and Contract Technician (Benefits Funds) Grade: TS-6, Salary: $57,042.62Location: Washington, DCPurpose:This position is responsible for maintaining accounts, collective bargaining agreements and contributions of employers who participate in the SEIU National Industry Pension Fund while providing excellent customer service and maintaining good relationships with employers and SEIU local offices. This position is also responsible for the referral of delinquent accounts to Fund counsel and works with counsel to collect delinquent contributions. This position handles sensitive and confidential information.Primary Responsibilities:Sets-up and maintains employer accounts and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)Receives, reviews and monitors Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) for new and participating employersSets-up employers after acceptable CBA s are approvedMaintains employer records and contact information Requests collective bargaining agreements from employers, locals and audit staff to ensure that the Fund has all CBA s for active employers and sitesTracks all new and existing CBAs that have been received and are due to the Fund at expiration of prior agreementsProvides monthly updates to the Contribution Compliance Manager regarding expired and on-compliant agreementsWorks closely with employers and locals to monitor and resolve non-compliant CBA s and/or contributions received without a contract or non-compliant contractProvides updates to Contribution Compliance manager regarding non-compliant contributions not resolved that are to refunded as per Fund policyProvides customer service to employers and SEIU locals to assist and answer questions related to contributions, collection procedures, delinquencies, etc.Records the termination of employers where applicableMonitor and collect employer contributions, refer delinquent employers.Responsible for monitoring and maintaining contributions and remittance reports Responsible for collecting delinquent remittance reports, contributions, interest and liquidated damages Writes up and review account adjustments as needed and ensure contributions comply with signed CBA and Fund policyReports monthly to Contributions Compliance Manager regarding delinquent account statusGenerates, saves and mails monthly delinquency lettersProvides customer service to employers regarding collection issues to resolve discrepancies and shortagesRefers delinquent employer accounts to Fund counsel for collection per Fund collection policy after attempts have been made to collect contributionsWorks closely with Fund counsel on referred cases and provides needed documents and informationNotifies Contributions Compliance Manager monthly or as appropriate of any updates to referred employers and delinquent accountsProvides information requested by fund consultants, as directed by managementAssists outside consultants (attorneys, auditors, actuaries, etc) in providing requested information Assists in clerical function of SEIU Benefit Fund Office Collections DepartmentMonthly mailings of reports and lettersMonthly mailings of census and beneficiary cardsFiling of correspondence received, closed reports, etc (electronic and paper)Acts as liaison between Contribution Compliance, Benefits Processing, and Payroll Review to ensure participant contributions are accurate .Assist Benefits Processing and Payroll Review in verification of accurate contributions for participants and CBA probation periodsAssist Payroll Review in resolving outstanding audit issuesPrepares and coordinates reports for Trustee MeetingsPrepares reports regarding new and terminated employersMaintains and tracks current number of contributing employersPrepares delinquency reportsPerforms other duties as required to support the department and its missionDirection and Decision Making: This position reports to the Contributions Compliance Manager. Qualification Requirements:Associates degree from an accredited college or university with coursework including business administration and advanced math or other related coursework and three (3) years of experience in a multi-employer pension environment OR High school or GED, two (2) year of college coursework including business administration and advanced math and four (4) years of experience in a multi-employer pension environment.Or a combination or education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to analyze, interpret, apply and communicate ERISA, DOL and IRS Regulations as related to the Plans Ability to analyze, interpret, apply and communicate plan languageAbility to create and maintain confidentiality of information Ability to perform detailed calculations with accuracy in an efficient manner Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to think critically and produce sound, logical conclusions Ability to perform data entry functions Ability to work efficiently and effectively in demanding environment Ability to handle sensitive situations in calm respectful manner Ability to handle multiple projects, meet established deadlines and adapt to an ever changing environment for the purpose of accomplishing results Ability to organize work/tasks to provide for systematic and efficient processes Ability to produce work accurately and thoroughly Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach toward assignments while actively participating and supporting a team environment Proficient in the use of personal computers using accounting, database, and spreadsheet software or other SEIU Benefit Funds Office software, including Microsoft Office Suite, in the performance of record keepingTest Certifications: Excel (Intermediate); Word (Basic)Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office setting.
