Job Details

Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, performs various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maryland and be on the State of Maryland Registry
• Current Basic Life Support (Heart Saver) certificate
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
• Possess knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, the Department of Nursing and Adventist Healthcare, Shady Grove Medical Center

Education and Experience Required:
• High School Diploma
• Successful completion of the CNA program or first year of Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam

Work Schedule:

A commitment of 1 shift per week including 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday in a four weeks schedule.
