Summary

About the Position: Works in the Military Personnel Team, Human Resources Directorate, US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC). Serves as a staff-level Military Human Resources (HR) Specialist with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding military HR programs. Serves as the primary Commander's Portal Approval Authorities (CPAA) with capabilities within the Medical Protection System (MEDPROS) and the Medical Operational Data System (MODS).

Responsibilities

  • Representative for MODS and MEDPROS, and conducts analyses and searches within these systems, ensuring identification of Soldiers needing to complete specific requirements to maintain their Medical Readiness Classification (MRC) as "deployable".
  • MSC staff-level Military Human Resources (HR) Specialist responsible for providing technical advice and guidance regarding military HR programs including strength management; personnel actions; and Military Acquisition Position List (MAPL) programs.
  • Provides comprehensive and direct advice and guidance to subordinate organizations on various areas of military HR management regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Conducts analyses and reconciles officer and enlisted requirements, authorizations, and actual strength with the Command.
  • Responsible for analyzing and managing military personnel aspects of reshape actions and restructure initiatives impacting military personnel strength, as well as developing personnel policies.
  • Evaluates existing authorizations, projected changes and anticipated gains and losses and recommends, from the personnel perspective, proposed courses of action to ensure mission accomplishment.
  • Participates in the interpretation, development, implementation, and administration of a variety of staff assignments in various military HR program areas.
  • Participates in overseeing the execution and implementation of the Department of Army policy on military HR services programs and ensures level of services are consistent command-wide.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting analysis and reconciling officer and enlisted requirements, authorizations, and actual strength within a Command. Evaluating existing authorizations, projected changes and anticipated gains and losses and recommending proposed courses of action to ensure mission accomplishment. Analyzing the impact of proposed changes on the organization and defending and/or justifying positions authorizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
