Apply today!The Virginia Coalitions Director for Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) will work with state chapter leadership, Stand Together's communications and marketing capability, and like-minded organizations throughout the commonwealth to form partnerships and develop strategies to promote a free and open society with a particular emphasis on reaching out to veterans, active duty military members, and their families. This individual will work to expand the footprint of CVA across the commonwealth in partnership with Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and The LIBRE Initiative.Concerned Veterans for America is a non-partisan, non-profit grassroots organization within Americans for Prosperity that advances the principles and values of economic freedom to empower veterans and their communities so that each person can thrive and contribute to a more prosperous America.Your Responsibilities IncludeCollaborate with allied groups throughout the commonwealth to help advance policy goals that align with our vision of a free and open societyCollaborate with state leadership team and CVA executive director to ensure strategic partnerships and initiatives target the appropriate audiencesIn collaboration with our communications capability, develop and execute communications and media strategies to set compelling narratives for initiativesServe as spokesperson for CVA within Virginia Develop and host educational events with coalition partners for policy objectives to support grassroots efforts, specifically as it relates to our Foreign Policy initiativesPartner with legal team and state leadership to ensure strategies and efforts are compliant with state and federal lawsWork with CVA Foundation team members and state staff to develop and execute educational and community building events throughout the commonwealth as neededOrganize and participate in direct lobbying/testifying as neededDrive a positive culture built on and around Market-Based Management (R) principles throughout the state chapter and organizationKnowledge and Skills You Bring to the OrganizationMultiple years of experience delivering outcomes through coalition building and/or grassroots organizing Experience in and passion for Foreign Policy reformProven ability to form partnerships and create strategies to advance goalsOutstanding communication skills, both written and oralStrong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently, as well as collaboratively with state chapter and national staff, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environmentProven ability to work remotely and in an office environmentWillingness to travel for day and overnight trips in and out of stateCompetency with Microsoft Office SuiteIntegrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitudeA positive attitude and an earnest interest in providing good customer service to our members, partners, and all state chaptersA firm commitment to building a culture of mutual benefit, where people succeed by helping one anotherWillingness to perform all duties as listed and any other duties assignedYou have a valid driver's licenseStandout Candidates May Also BringVeteran status preferredState or federal legislative experienceAbout UsHere are some examples of the positive impact our grassroots staff have made in the lives of Americans across the country.
