Job Purpose: To work as an employee of a State Farm independent contractor agent assisting, assisting the agent in selling and marketing State Farm products and services and in providing quality service to State Farm clients. Experience & Knowledge: Experience in sales, marketing and customer service desirable. Experience with computer software desirable. Knowledge of personal lines insurance products desirable. Must have Property & Casualty license. One (1) to Two (2) years of Sales Experience preferred. Life & Health license preferred and or must be able to obtain. Skills & Abilities: Ability to learn and apply product, industry and market knowledge to make professional recommendations to prospects and policy holders. Ability to influence others. Ability to create professional business relationships with prospects and policy holders. Strong listening, oral and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative and act effectively in various circumstances without direction. Self - confidence/perseverance/strong work ethic: remain positive and maintain progress towards a goal in spite of obstacles and adversity. Goal oriented: highly motivated and resourceful to achieve results. Proven track record trustworthiness, dependability and ethical behavior. Proven problem solving ability: apply and balance conceptual and analytical thinking by breaking down complex problems, evaluating alternative sources of action and their likely outcomes and selecting the best alternative. Ability to organize and act on several activities concurrently. Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy. Job Related Training Courses & Programs: Successfully complete all company, state and federal requirements (licenses) to sell and service designated State Farm products and continue to be licenses in good standing is required. Job Requirements: Duties & Responsibilities: Implement the agency s marketing/sales plan and direct mail campaign at direction of the agent. Work from the agent s office to contact prospects and current policy holders to generate interest in sales appointments. Conduct needs based sales interviews in the agent s office supported by technology (including Insurance and Financial Reviews). Meet monthly goals set by the agent. Provide prompt, accurate, friendly, cost effective service and utilize it as a basis for establishing a marketing opportunity. As directed by the agent, work with agent s computer system to update information in customer databases used by the agent. Prepare forms, policies and endorsements when required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the agent.
