The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.About Our TeamAs the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within Corporate Credit that: Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and executionThis Senior Advisor role reporting to Dave Nole will be responsible for: Ensuring reliable commercial valuations done in a compliant, efficient and timely manner Provide insight and expertise on critical commercial real estate transactions, valuation, reviews and construction and environmental services. Ensure that the treatment of commercial properties and transactions is commensurate with risk of the property and transaction. Work with business partners to ensure proper treatment of properties and transactions. Work with valuation team and operations team to ensure that any potential valuation issues are identified, escalated, and handled appropriately to ensure proper risk management and appropriate level of service. Maintain independence in valuation processes, review processes, escalation processes and quality assurance processes. Work with senior leaders to care for gaps in current processes and procedures. Telecommute option is available, but must be based from one of the listed locations. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.Required Qualifications12+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: lending, valuation, or underwritingDesired QualificationsAbility to identify root-cause issues/improvement opportunities, and design approaches/programs/products to improve overall quality assuranceExperience articulating issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and managementData collection and reporting experienceExperience participating with senior relationship managers in the completion of major transactionsKnowledge and understanding of underwriting: complex real estate transactionsAbility to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goalsOther Desired Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in performing commercial Real Estate valuations including, but not limited to, risk, compliance, transactions, valuation, reviews, construction, and environmental services.Job ExpectationsAbility to travel up to 10% of the timeDisclaimerAll offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
