We are looking for a seasoned Software Test Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen.SemanticBits is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester with 7+ years of experience testing web-based applications and 3+ years leading test teams.A' This position will have a heavy focus on developing and maintaining automated tests for our current test suites built on Cypress.A' Our applications are developed using modern JavaScript technology for the front-end (React or Angular) and the back-end (NodeJS).A' Automated and manual experience testing and validating web interfaces and API based on these technologies is preferred.A' Experience with integrating automated testing into CI/CD processes is required. This position is open to a senior-level to principal professional depending on experience.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the leadership team on a large, complex program involving numerous, integrated software productsDefine and maintain test plans and test specifications for functional and automated regression, and performance testingEnsure the overall quality of all aspects complex software system, including data, APIs, and web applicationIdentify gaps in test approach, strategize on a plan to fill the gaps, and then execute that planDesign and maintain automated test scripts covering fundamental front and backend functions in the applicationWork with IT Developers to improve automated testing where possibleCreate manual test cases and validation of automation failuresCreate and manage defects through the product life cycleGenerate test reports and traceability matricesTranslate high-level business requirements into test scenariosAssist in keeping application specifications accurate and up to datePerform service-level testing on an as-needed basisWork closely with engineering teams to discuss risk and risk mitigationA' Shaping the overall QA process through application of best practices and new approaches to testing workflowRequirements7+ years of experience in a software testing roleHands-on experience with different types of testing (System, Regression, Smoke, Performance, Load, etc.)UNIX experience preferredKnowledge of relational database concepts and good SQL skills preferredHands-on experience with database management software (MySQL, Robo 3T)Hands-on experience testing and debugging web-based software including use of in-browser development toolsHands-on experience with API testing tool such as Postman, Insomnia or PawHands-on experience with front end automation tools such as Cypress or SeleniumExperience in micro-services based Architecture and messaging protocols preferredSolid understanding of Software Configuration Management concepts and methodologiesProficient in at least one source control tool (Git)Proficient in at least one issue tracking tool (JIRA)Proficient in at least one test management tool (TestRail, Quality Center)Experience with Load, Stress, and Performance testingExperience with Agile development methodologies and toolsStrong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyCandidate must reside in the United StatesBachelor's degree required, strong preference for Computer Science field of studyA minimum of 5 years of related professional experienceFlexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessaryNice to Have:Experience working in the healthcare industryFederal Government contracting work experiencePrior experience working remotely full-timePhysical and emotional requirements for the job:This position is to be performed remotely from an individual's home office and involves sedentary work.
