Software Developer Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Employee Type: Full-Time Clearance: Secret Schedule: 0800-1600 (M-F) Position Overview: The software developer is responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of software applications to support help desk operations and information technologies teams. Responsibilities and Duties: Create, maintain and enhance the functionality of a variety of software applications. Determine technical requirements by analyzing customer needs. Work with teams to resolve issues, prioritize needs, develop criteria and choose solutions. Write and evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, properly structured and well documented. Required Skills and Qualifications: 2+ years of experience developing in Java. Core Java (1.7+); multi-threading, concurrency, etc. Experience with the following software and technologies: Relational database with JDBC; preferably MySQL Java Messaging Service (JMS); preferably Artemis/Apache ActiveMQ Enterprise Service Bus; preferably Mule ESB XML, XSD, XSLT, XPATH, and Object XML mapping Continuous Integration Software; preferably Jenkins Automated software builds; preferably Apache Ant Version control systems; preferably SVN Ability to operate effectively with a high level of independence. Strong willingness to quickly explore and learn new skills. Strong technical writing and verbal communications skills.
