United States of America - Virginia, ArlingtonJob SummaryAECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Value Engineer for immediate employment in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will be part of the PPM Project Controls Group supporting various projects in performing value engineering studies on the designs. The overall objective of this role will be to perform detailed Value Engineering studies and determine if the design covers the required functions of the project at the lowest overall cost & time and maintain a high-quality standard.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Prepare plans for performing Value Engineering on projects with different project delivery methods.The Value Engineer will be responsible for performing a systematic application of recognized techniques to evaluate design performance and value to deliver a functional and simplified product.Review complete design packages, identify high cost areas, conduct a functional analysis of the high cost areas and determine their cost/worth relationships.Determine that the best design practices are used and propose alternatives. Evaluate advantages and disadvantages of each alternative and provide a matrix analysis.Perform a comprehensive functional analysis in the design phase.Provide studies on cost savings that could be incorporated into designs.Make recommendations to the design team on how to improve function, cost, maintainability, and quality of the project.Provide detailed reports on Value Engineering findings to include detailed cost reports, project life cycle analyses and sketches.Make presentations to the project teams on explaining the findings of the Value Engineering Study, and how they can be implemented. Determine the level of effort required to redesign if necessary.The Value Engineer will be responsible to track and make sure the approved recommendations are converted into actions.Supervises junior staff through task development, establishing and maintaining goals and expectations, and documenting performance related issues and achievements.Oversees continuous professional development for staff, documents employee performance issues and participates in resolutions as appropriate.Identifies and develops talent.Maintains positive working relationship with peer leaders.Establishes and maintains clear goals and expectations for the organization.Minimum RequirementsBA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationBachelor' degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management8+ years of experience of progressive Value Engineering experiencePossession of Professional License (PE or AIA) in the State of VirginiaCertified Value Specialist (CVS)Knowledgeable of the design and operation requirement of multi-discipline systems.Excellent oral and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with multiple project delivery methodsPrior experience in Federal and local government projectsDemonstrated knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint softwareWhat We OfferWhen you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
