Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.Hydrasearch is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its team in Stevensville on Maryland's Eastern Shore. This is a hands-on engineering role in a manufacturing environment. We are proud of our products and value our position as a critical supplier to many of the country's largest shipbuilders, and many notable boat OEM's.Responsibilities:Review technical specifications, technical requirements documents, design descriptions, test procedures, and test reportsConduct quality review of materials and material certificationsEnsure manufacturing process meets acceptable standards and documentation is compliant with standards or customer requirementsReview and validation of manufactured part conformance to end user/government requirementsTrouble shooting, designing and testing new productsUtilize multiple 3D printing and scanning technologiesProvide proactive support to identify potential issues and concernsInvestigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepanciesInterface with various levels of technical, quality and operations personnel to ensure their understanding of inspection results and anomaliesSolving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely mannerDeveloping/revising process documentation and work instructionsPerform root cause and corrective action analysis and maintain documentation throughoutAnswering technical questions from internal and external customersDemonstrating a solid understanding of mechanical drawings with strong mechanical aptitudeFirm grasp of SolidWorks and AutoCAD programs; proficiency with Microsoft suite of productsResponsible for R & D and all mechanical design aspects of products based on customer and government requirementsCompetencies:Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with internal and external customersPossess problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentWorking with SolidWorks and AutoCAD programs; proficiency with Microsoft suite of productsComfortable with accessing various ERP systems Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
