Are you interested in a position as an energy auditor who is also responsible for assessing properties against sustainability standards? This will also include energy management and data reporting. POSITION OVERVIEW: Conducts energy audits for the Department of Labor Job Corps Program at Job Corps educational/vocational centers nationwide. Evaluates facilities for sustainability and energy efficiency and makes recommendations to improve energy efficiency to include payback analyses. Willingness to travel is expected, travel is approximately 20%. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. Specifically: - Conducts energy audits of buildings with an emphasis on low cost and quick payback projects and improvements in operations and maintenance, - Evaluates buildings and building operations in accordance with widely accepted sustainability standards, - Develops projects, budgets and scopes of work to reduce energy and water usage. - Assists with cost estimating for energy and water projects, - Proficiency in locating, evaluating, and reporting on the current conditions of major building systems and their individual components, - Provides independent, professional recommendations for remaining service life and recommends appropriate actions associated with deficient conditions, - Recommends energy conservation measures for associated deficient conditions in sufficient detail to support cost estimates, - Provides written narrative descriptions about the general condition of systems, - Provides quality control for field surveys, data input and report output, - Communicates with management team on schedule and project status, - Assists with the development of assessment findings report, - Reviews and interprets drawings, - Provides training and guidance to assigned personnel as needed, and - Participates in client presentations as required.
