Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group in collaboration with a premier CPA and Accounting firm, is searching for a motivated Tax Manager- Construction. The Manager will apply technical skills to perform an effective review of all types of tax returns, ensure project and filing timelines are met and review workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive tax experience, possess an active CPA License and have construction industry knowledge.   • Perform reviews to ensure that discrepancies are identified and resolved, opportunities explored, and that returns are complete and ready for Principal review
  • Manage thorough and timely Tax preparation; filing, submission, documenting and other related correspondence
  • Outline, document and execute essential Tax related policies and processes including key tax-related procedures and crucial user related functions for the system
  • Collaborate with clients and their advisors and deliver support as the primary point of contact for financial matters
  • Communicate status of projects to staff and team members and provide assistance if needed
  • Mentor and participate in training as a team leader
  • Adhere to compliance guidelines and develop departmental policies and procedures for the company

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields
  • Active CPA License highly desired
  • 5+ years of progressive CPA firm experience; relevant experience in financial accounting and business taxation concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of the Construction Industry preferred
  • Experience with ProSystems is a strong plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, Federal, State and Local Taxation regulations and compliance requisites
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to work collaboratively with teams
  • Detail and process oriented; ability to work on multiple deadline driven projects
  • Solid analytical skills to interpret complex reports, needs and documentations
