This position is located in the Office of Human Resources and Professional Development, Field Operations, Workforce, Wellness, and Services Division, Peer Response Programs Branch.

Responsibilities
Summary:
This position serves as program manager in the Peer Response Programs Branch representative for assigned geographical area. Oversees a group of peer responder volunteers and coordinates critical incident responses. Preparing and presenting briefings to the Branch Chief, Division Chief or above on critical incident or wellness matters. Making contacts, speeches, and presentations to government, interest groups or other organizations, conducts training. Developing annual area work plans and an area travel budget to accomplish set goals. Coordinates area assessments for planning activities.
Functions as a policy developer and manager of programs, projects, studies and activities. Functions as primary coordinator with all the divisions within office of Human Resources and Professional Development. Provides professional leadership and guidance in extending, improving, and monitoring assigned program area and devising, developing, and implementing innovative changes, such as long-term program improvements. Serves as a key advisor to division chiefs, branch chiefs on policy issues, projects, and technical matters involving assigned areas of responsibility. Serves as ATF spokeperson and point of contact regarding assigned program areas. Prepares presentation and provides briefings on program issues to top level ATF management officials, representative from various other Federal, State, and local agencies, and officials from other aw enforcement entities an related organizations.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - Travel and relocation expenses is authorized and will be paid.

To qualify for GS-14 Position, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 .
Specialized experience is experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
Examples of specialized experience includes: The ability to develop and evaluate procedures; formulate and direct plans; expertly implement changes initiatives by ATF or DOJ; evaluate findings and recommendations and implement required actions or improvements thorough knowledge of the organization, objectives, operating programs or policies of ATF; and, to apply expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as is relates to the programs ares.

PROMOTION TO GS-1801-14. The following eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement to compete for GS-1801-14 positions:
a. Minimum of six years of service as an ATF Industry Operations Investigator.
b. A minimum of three years as a GS-1801-13 Industry Operations Investigator in a field group. NOTE: In the case of Industry Operations Investigators who PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THIS ORDER MOVED INTO A SPECIALIZED GS-1801-13 position before completing the minimum three years, an exemption may be made for completing the three years. See Section 5, subsections 5a and 5b.
c. GS-1801-13 Industry Operations Investigators can obtain Area Supervisor experience so long as the IOI has been temporarily promoted to a GS-1801-14 through a competitive vacancy announcement. GS-1801-13s who are temporarily promoted to a GS-1801-14 shall meet the criteria listed in this Section, subsections 15a and 15b.
