This position is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Federal Assistance Management, Office of the Associate Administrator. The duty location for this position is in Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities

As a Management Assistant, your major duties and responsibilities include:
  • Performing significant office automation assignments that require a fully experience qualified typist.
  • Providing direct support to higher-level employees and management officials by performing a variety of support work to improve the efficiency of organizational management.
  • Maintaining data and typing forms and documents.
  • Coordinating with other individuals, offices and divisions in the development and maintenance of organizational SOP manuals.
  • Identifying problems by analyzing collected data and proposing solutions.
  • Maintaining administrative staff data in various categories by division.

Typing Proficiency Requirement: You must be proficient with typing and be able to type 40 or more words per minute.

To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-5 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis: using automated timekeeping systems to develop and maintain timekeeping records for staff; utilizing a variety of software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook, SharePoint, Access, Internet Explorer) to prepare documents for staff; and maintaining senior management and conference room schedules using electronic calendars.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
