The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's role is to oversee various aspects of the energy industry, including transmission of electricity, natural gas and oil. We also analyze proposals to build liquefied natural gas terminals and interstate natural gas pipelines and license hydropower projects. To help support the modernization of the electric system here in the U.S., we are focusing on issues associated with a smarter grid.

This position is located in the Office of External Affairs (OEA), Administration and Operations Staff (AOS) and is the primary contact point with the Congress, international, Federal, state and local government offices, special interest groups, the news media, and the general public. All Congressional and executive correspondence is received in the OEA. The incumbent is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks, using various management information systems to assist the Office Director, Deputy Director and the Administrative Officer (AO) in carrying out an array of duties, including analyzing, controlling, assigning, monitoring, and tracking executive correspondence. In a small office setting, the incumbent reports to the Supervisory AO, and as a member of the admistrative team, provides support for multiple divisions to procure services, obtain supplies, process travel and training and serve as the alternate payroll coordinator, among other administrative duties. May engage in rotational cross-training assignments and perform multiple projects concurrently.

Major Duties for the Office Administrative Coordinator:
  • Provides administrative support to the office
  • Coordinates travel and training for the office staff, including itineraries, reservations, authorizations, and reimbursements, and training requisitions.
  • Receives incoming correspondence, assigns to appropriate office, communicates with office POCs and ensures process milestones are followed by all program offices
  • Ensures Controlled Correspondence responses include proper grammar, punctuation and finalizes letters in proper format before signature
  • Manage and track controlled correspondence from Congress, White House, and other government agencies using correspondence tracking system (CTS) and ATMS.
