You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. QualificationsThis position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in providing technical design direction in the acquisition of medical/dental facilities for the Department of Defense, and Veterans Affairs; 2) Providing consultation services in all phases of medical facility acquisition including, but not limited to, research planning, design, construction, and operation and maintenance within the technical programs assigned; 3) Managing the execution of significant medical engineering involving the coordination of multi-faceted teams of engineers and architects in the area of criteria preparation, architect/engineering (A/E) selection, A/E negotiation, consultation during construction, and post-occupancy evaluations.
