Job Description - Manager, Brand Strategy (VW 001777)Job Description Manager, Brand Strategy - VW 001777Primary Location: United States-Virginia-HerndonDescription Role Summary:The Brand Manager position leads the go-to-market planning for the Volkswagen brand and the full line-up of models. The role will lead all marketing launches and ensure cross functional alignment on all marketing initiatives. In addition the role will ensure a consistent brand voice and creative identity is delivered across the company. This position will work closely with the marketing controller and finance team in managing department's budget allocation, tracking and reporting. This position requires a strong leader, that is both a team player and strategically sound.Role Responsibilities:Develop positioning and target data for Brand and Models. On-going Nameplate Management and 360 Go-To-Market planning for models, brand-building initiative, model sub-brands (eg R-line, limited edition models). Collaborate with inter-department disciplines to ensure their plans directly support strategic objectives, priorities and defined plans. Work directly with Volkswagen AG on regional roll out of global marketing initiatives including but not limited to: ID, brand licensing, global campaign/launches, and global marketing/sponsoring properties. Work with creative agency of record and media agency of record and select secondary agencies on strategic planning, target audience development, communications and plan rollout. Manage team of specialist(s) who will coordinate day-to-day plans and tracking for brand initiatives and the full line-up of vehicles across the department. Work closely with Brand and Marketing communications team on project brief development and messaging prioritization. Work closely with Brand performance team on brand and model analytics. React to data and adjust (short and long term) planning to impact marketing efforts, based on purchase funnel performance, product availability and sales opportunities. Work with Analytics team to identify opportunity/growth targets. Support Product marketing and sales on all future product planning and lifecycle management. Provide strong Point-of-view on marketing and communications approach for future planning teams. Manage launch timelines to ensure key milestones are understood and being delivered upon. Initiate regularly scheduled launch marketing team meetings to ensure coordinated efforts across all disciplines.Become the primary liaison with the product launch coordinator(s) for communicating all marketing efforts in support of launch related presentations. Collaborate with inter-department disciplines, to ensure their plans directly support priorities/assignments.Budget Management - Actively manage department budget allocation, tracking & reporting.Manage Creative Identity and Brand Identity Auditing. Protect brand identity through proactive engagement and communication with all departments including regional marketing & field teams.Qualifications Qualifications:Years of Experience:7-10 Years of Relevant Experience3-5 Years of Supervisory ExperienceEducation:Bachelor's Degree - Business Management or Marketing (Required)Skills:Cross collaboration - Comfort in working with many internal and external partners to gain robust understanding of multiple impacts to the business in order to provide a comprehensive brand strategy and management including but not limited to: Sales / Distribution, Product, Incentives, Media Agency Integration - joining people, processes or systems Communication skills - Experience in communicating with executive level audiences; Ability to develop and effectively communicate strategic and program presentations at multiple levels within the organization and with partner agenciesResource management - Budget management and forecasting experienceComputer savvy - Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerpointSpecialized Skills:Required:Prior experience at regional or national levels of an automotive organization Direct experience managing and motivating employees Experience working on long and short-term strategic planning Campaign Management Budget Management Experience with interdepartmental collaborationAbility to motivate a cross functional team towards one collective end goal and deliverableUnderstanding of how different marketing disciplines come together to accomplish one cohesive marketing plan Excellent PowerPoint skills and proficiency in taking disparate parts of a plan and creating one uniform presentation that tells a cohesive story Strong management of timelines & budgets Prioritization skills and efficient multi-taskingAbility to interpret marketing analyticsDesired:Working knowledge of Automotive industryWorking experience in the coordination of national, regional or dealer level marketing communication strategies.We are proud to be an EEO employer M/F/D/V.
