Job DescriptionRaytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to join a high-performing team at the heart of an important US government function which helps the nation meet its national security strategy. This is for an on-site system administrator sustaining, and maintaining a cloud based data system supporting a high visibility system critical to this DoD combat support agency's day-to-day and contingency operations. This cloud-based, architecturally complex, multi-networked system has multiple users who demand very quick troubleshooting of problems, active workflow management, and restoral operations as needed. This is position which requires knowledge of cloud concepts, experience in Amazon Web Services, and the ability to learn a new system and provide requisite feedback. The successful candidate must have multitasking abilities, problem-solving skills, good verbal skills, and most importantly a positive, can-do attitude. The team works in a cross-domain environment with established procedures and controls in a sometimes high stress environment. This team position will be a shiftwork position however the operation prefers static shifts to accomplish the 24/7 operation. It requires occasional holiday and weekend work spread across the entire operations staff with commensurate days off.This position is in Springfield, VA, and reports directly to the Raytheon Technologies on-site Operations Manager.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Ensure maximum system availability.Sys ad skills to maintain a very high visibility system running two 24/7 shifts.Follow approved engineering instructions to conduct system updates/upgrades to hardware and software.Be fully competent in System Administrator functions.Conduct Cloud-based services to ensure system operation. Support the development and/or modification of technical documentation.Complete and track lessons learned and metrics.Required Skills:Current TS/SCI security clearance.Current Counter Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) or the ability to pass one within six months of hire date.System administration in Cloud Based services.Relevant experience in Amazon Web Services including certification as AWS System Operations, AWS Dev-Ops Engineer or similar.Ability to work in an operational environment.Attention to detail.Desired Skills:Good communication and organizational skills.Ability to produce technical documentation.Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC).Comfortable performing normal duties collocated with the customer and other operations center residents.
