Jr. TECHNICAL WRITER SUMMARY Tucker-Rose is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to support the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VHA) in Washington DC. REQUIREMENTS Contractor will support OCC and My HealtheVets IT team as they continue to develop and maintain this critical system. The contractor shall provide program management, training development and delivery stakeholder engagement, and the collection and management of business needs as well as product feedback from business stakeholders and Veterans. Contractor support shall provide experienced project management staff to oversee projects (ie Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, preferred, not mandated), expert knowledge of data analytics and mining, and metrics/targetsetting. The contractor shall be required to coordinate activities with OCC and My HealtheVet leadership and product owners as well as with OI&T DevOps teams and stakeholders for the VA EHR modernization initiative. Explaining complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience Writing and editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies Meeting with authors and team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatibles, and provide final publishable documentation Track and record high-level technical discussions related to system outages within VA Work with technical triage team members to ensure accuracy of recorded information Deliver summary reports of call activity in a timely manner Cross-train in the editor role to be able to fill in as needed to review the work of other reporters Assist with producing daily, bi-weekly and other status reports and briefs for senior leadership QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree from a four-year accredited university Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years experience in a technical writing capacity Without degree, candidates must have additional 8 yrs. experience in a technical writing Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, preferred, not mandated Ability to understand and report on technical discussions of IT problems and resolution efforts Strong oral and written communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Experience with full MS-Office suite Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
