Hiring a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA Our client is an engineering services company supplying modeling and simulation services. Our Client's services include hardware, software, and system engineering, requirements assessments, development, integration, testing, documentation, and customer support services. Our Client has a high level of expertise in flight simulation hardware and software development, as well as computer architecture, tactical environments, interoperability (HLA/DIS), avionics systems, and real-time embedded systems. Our Client is the OEM for the Marine Corps aircrew flight simulation interoperability network and tactical environments. Our Client has just won a long-term contract to develop and upgrade Army Special Ops Forces Air Regiment flight and aircrew simulators.Our client is looking for a Systems Engineer to lead the full life cycle development of a flight simulator. This person will be responsible for putting together the technical plan to build the flight simulator. This Systems Engineer needs to be familiar with the main components of a training simulator and how they interact with eachother. This person should be comfortable interacting with government clients/regulations, and leading others.Responsibilities include:- Assist the PM in the planning and execution of an engineering project. - Direct the analysis of Customer requirements. - Direct the design and construction of a flight simulation device, to include the system architecture and hardware and software components required to satisfy Customer requirements. - Direct the verification and validation of simulation device capabilities. Lead technical interchange meetings. - Direct the preparation of all technical documentation. - Provide task-oriented supervision to subordinate staff. - Review technical work of subordinate staff and provide guidance and training where appropriate.- Must be open to up to 50% travel in certain spans of weeks, as some delivery orders may require design reviews at vendor sites.About Aerotek: We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
