Job Description Summary As a part of MAXIMUS Federal, the Sr. Solutions Architect will work on a fully dedicated, cross-functional, team given the autonomy required to deliver solutions which fulfill client needs and drive business outcomes within the context of client journeys. Our belief is that proper architecture is core to high performance software delivery. We are looking for a deeply technical Sr. Solutions Architect to take initiative and move the needle with regards to building a scalable, architecturally evolving and modern solutions for our clients. To be successful in this role, you need to be an expert in technology trends within federal space and build implementation strategies and plans to keep us at the forefront of technology while solving daily challenges. This is a hands-on role where the Sr. Solutions Architect will work closely with development teams to create scalable web applications and support an automated CI/CD pipeline, implementing build, deployment and monitoring standards for the client. This candidate will build and modernize enterprise level Next Generation application while mitigating risks associated with the legacy migrations using an Agile delivery methodology. Sets up and leads inter-team solution sessions for better collaboration and outcomes.Job Duties:*Provide expert analytical, architectural support as needed for the overall projects and systems by working with engineers and other personnel to ensure effective operations of all capabilities, piloting of new systems, and periodic updates to systems.*Collaborate with other client IT technical resources to translate security and business requirements into technical designs and ensure design decisions continuously protect systems and the public's data against insider threats and the external advanced persistent threat.*Assist in the planning, designing, development and implementation of security programs designed to anticipate, assess and minimize system vulnerabilities.*Review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks; recommend mitigation or countermeasures, and resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure.*Provide expert analysis for the security planning and policies needed.*Assist in contingency planning in collaboration with federal IT technical resources.*Aid in developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.*Review and evaluate security incident response policies, identify the need for changes based on new security technologies or threats, test and implement new policies and establish measures to ensure awareness and compliance.*Analyze security requirements resulting from new Public Law, Presidential directive, or other external mandate, and assist in defining the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies.*Develop solutions to integration/interoperability issues, design, develop, and manage IT security systems that meet current and future business requirements, and apply and/or extend, enhance, optimize existing architecture.*Communicate complex technical requirements to nontechnical personnel, prepare and present briefings to senior management officials on complex issues.*Perform cyber threat analysis and reporting from both internal and external sources.*Analyze cyber threat data and correlate with existing understanding of cyber threats impacting the client systems.*Conduct research and write papers based on the identification of trends, up-and-coming threats, and recommend mitigation strategy.*Actively monitor and research cyber threats with a direct or indirect impact to the public's data.*Provide coordination across client stakeholder divisions with regards to cybersecurity.Education and Experience: *Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 10 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 8 years' experience; or equivalent experience.*Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.*Works on major issues that impact technical success or address future concepts, products or technologies.*Creates formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesperson for the organization.*As an expert in the field, uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Manage, lead, coordinate and deliver on all tasks related to a large federal IT program.- Responsible for the overall delivery of all IT tasks and solutions on the program and will do so in coordination with the Program Manager and technical project managers.- Manage and provide technical guidance as applicable across the program and be open to provide hands-on support as needed.- Identify and establish program objectives with close coordination with the agency stakeholders on a yearly basis.- Identify, track and manage project risks, communications, plans, and resources while providing weekly and monthly status updates to both the customer and corporate.- Work closely with the technical project managers on a day-to-day basis to understand and guide technology solution architecture, design and implementation.- Work closely with the infrastructure support team to ensure optimal system configuration, performance and reliability to meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).- Coordinate project activities with agency stakeholders and other designated systems integrators, as required, to plan and execute on defined program objectives.- Work closely with project teams to help identify issues and risks while providing potential solutions and mitigation plans.- Provide management of project resources including tracking and resolving resource issues and concerns.- Provide customer management support to include tracking and addressing customer requests related to program objectives.Minimum Requirements:- Typically requires an advanced technical degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience in progressively responsible positions.- Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.- Exercises independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.- Creates formal networks involving coordination amount groups.
