ECS Federal, LLC (ECS) is seeking a Scientist/Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding. Job Description: This non-personal services Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) position is in support to DARPA programs. Areas of interest include: EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Tools, Electronic Circuit Design, Design Automation software Development, and EDA design tool development process. The candidate will support a DARPA Program Manager in all technical aspects of program development and execution, including: planning; solicitation preparation; proposal/publication evaluation; independent review, analysis, and summary of relevant research; interaction with individuals from academia, industry and government; preparation and presentation of briefing materials, technical reports, and other program documents as required; and respond to other general tasks. The candidate will identify, assess, prioritize, and offer recommendations on proposed and emerging technologies to program manager and performers. This position does not entail direct laboratory experimental research. Job requires interaction with government customers at all levels of authority and technical acuity, and therefore the individual must be able to effectively communicate technical information with proficient oral and writing skills. Due to the fast-paced environment, individuals must have dedicated work ethic; be flexible; and show initiative, creativity, and innovation to both develop new research concepts and respond to challenges that arise on the job. SETA staff experience is desirable. Relocation to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area will be required. Required Skills: Masters of Science or Art degree in: Engineering, Math, or Physics Recent experience using engineering software tools to transition analog-digital circuit design products to integrated circuit implementation (tape-out) formats for foundry use Hands-on ASIC and system on a chip (SOC) design experience - preferably in digital design Experience with design tools such as Cadence or Synopsys Design Tool Suite, and/or Mentor Graphics Design Tools Suite Demonstrated skill in successfully performing technical assignments including researching and resolving problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques, risk analysis and resolution tracking Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance US Citizenship is required Desired Skills: Ph.
