One (1) position located in the Human Resources Division (HR), Office of Training (TR), Diversion Specialized Training Unit (TRCS), Quantico, VA.

The incumbent will perform such duties as:
  • Developing new and improved techniques within the scope of the program being directed which will have the general overall effect of facilitating the execution of DEA's investigative responsibilities.
  • Supervising an investigative or administrative program or a major segment of such program that has as its purpose the attainment of maximum results in the execution of the Agency's broad and complex investigative responsibilities.
  • Lecturing to DI trainees, In-Service DIs, international, federal, state, or local law enforcement officers.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge in field, attending specialized training, and remaining current on updates to agency procedures.
  • Maintaining familiarity with the contents of the various Agency manuals as well as revisions, and other correspondence relative to policy issues.

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

  • Successful completion of a one-year supervisory probationary period is required (unless already completed)
  • Successful completion of the mandatory Basic Diversion Investigator Training Course.

GS-14: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: planning, conducting, and overseeing investigations involving a vast range of subjects that encompass large, complex, and multi-mission organizations and can lead to cases of multi-jurisdictional, national, or international significance; overseeing development of investigations, statistical data, and reports to evaluate and determine goals and objectives; planning subordinate work assignments, and setting priorities and deadlines; and using breadth of technical and investigative knowledge, skills, and tools to discern and resolve conflicting facts or evidence.
