As a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

- Plan, direct, control, and supervise the Information Security and contractor staff. Defines overall project security requirements; oversees customer support and services; and resolves a wide range of technical and management issues. This includes ensuring that systems and services are developed and delivered in accordance with customer security requirements and current technology.
- Develop and design program plans and innovative approaches where no precedents exist and/or developing creative solutions to controversial problems; directing teams; structuring assignments; drafting persuasive and concise reports and briefing materials; and determining the completeness and sufficiency of the work.
- Recommend areas to be covered and develops new approaches where no precedent exists and works with highly interpretive laws and regulations, and targets areas of highly controversial problems. Additionally, the projects managed by the incumbent may involve shaping major programs, compliance with new legislation, or facilitating the resolution of long-standing problem areas of vital importance to the agency.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility, and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Planning, implementing, and directing robust processes to ensure that threats and deficits in IT protection, operating capacities, and network stability are identified and remedied; AND
- Planning, implementing, and directing overarching IT security projects and initiatives; AND
- Overseeing risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed IT systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
