Responsibilities

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing expert advisory services to the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) and the United States Attorneys Offices (USAOs) throughout the community on employee wellness issues. The incumbent will serve as the Grief/Trauma Response Program Coordinator. Typical work assignments will include:
  • Developing a strategic plan for employee wellness workforce development and training throughout the USAO community.
  • Providing assessment and short-term counseling nationwide for employees of the USAO and EOUSA with problems associated with stress management, mental illness, substance abuse, chemical dependency, grief and loss, domestic violence, marital, parenting and family issues and the myriad of problems that affect employees in their professional and personal lives.
  • Assessing employees wellness requirements within USAO or EOUSA offices,
  • Serving as program manager in promoting and implementing employee wellness initiatives at all levels.
  • Leading EOUSA's community-wide Grief/Trauma Response Program.
  • Serving as liaison between work and treatment settings.
  • Conducting training sessions for all levels of staff, including employees, senior officials, mid-level managers and first-line supervisors.
  • Serving as an advisor in support of top echelon intra- and inter-agency ad hoc, planning and working groups and committees having national representation.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must meet the following:
GS-13: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing counseling services across large workforce populations; developing strategic employee assistance program policy from various disciplines; applying professional knowledge of laws, polices, regulations and precedents of various programs relating to employee assistance issues; and communicating orally and in writing with professionals from various disciplines to develop effective and collaborative partnerships.

Selective Placement Factor: A selective placement factor is determined to be essential for successful performance in this position. Those candidates who do not meet the following selective placement factor will be rated "not qualified" for the position.

Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. (Note: You MUST submit copies of your licenses or certifications with your resume. Failure to provide required documents will render you not eligible for consideration.)

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
