Responsibilities

As an Outreach and Engagement Analyst, you will:
  • Serve as the Office point of contact for some governors, county and municipal leaders, as well as designated federal interagency departments and agencies. Under supervision of senior staff, maintain ongoing communication with such stakeholders, and build cooperative, ongoing working relationships with them. Establish relationships with stakeholders to advance the mission of OSM; assist in identifying potential areas for collaboration; and engage in ongoing dialogue to stay abreast of state, county and municipal level policies that might influence the Bureau's mission.
  • Support outreach to external stakeholders and cross Bureau stakeholders on behalf of OSM. Work closely with the Assistant Director for Intergovernmental Affairs, other OSM and External Affairs (CEEA) team members, and other Bureau staff to assist in conducting briefings, meetings, and events to increase external awareness among intergovernmental stakeholders and the general public about the CFPB's work, policy deliverables, and mission.
  • Draft time-sensitive memoranda for review by senior staff on topics related to intergovernmental stakeholder activity and policy development. Assist in drafting talking points for the Assistant Director for Intergovernmental Affairs' meetings and events.
  • Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of the Office's written materials by drafting talking points, fact sheets, briefing materials, memoranda, and other materials for Bureau use in conducting, facilitating, and supporting external outreach, briefings, events, meetings, and speeches. Conduct basic research to inform intergovernmental functions.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the CN-52, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-51 grade level in the Federal service (For qualification purposes, the CN-51 is broadly equivalent to the GS-11). Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Developing and implementing policies and strategies to advance organizational partnerships with internal and external stakeholders; AND
  • Coordinating the development of talking points, memos, or other written communication products for consumption by external parties; AND
  • Maintaining relationships with relevant actors in state, local, or tribal governments on behalf of an organization.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
