Responsibilities

These position are located in Sterling, VA with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Information Systems Division (TC), supporting the Core Enterprise Facility Transformation Section (TCC) with IT project management and support of complex IT systems in a Data Center environment, as well as supporting Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems and implementation. The Information Technology Specialist will perform the following duties:
  • Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist on critical IT issues.
  • Conceives and implements new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programs.
  • Working with users to refine functional requirements, translate functional requirements into design specifications.
  • Developing and interpreting policies, procedures and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency.
  • Making decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency IT policies or programs.
  • Training assigned IT personnel as needed on system operation, use, and interface with other systems.
  • Preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials.

Qualifications

GS-13: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 Federal grade level performing the following duties: planning, designing, developing, implementing and managing new and improved information systems; conducting studies, audits and analysis for an agency installing, configuring and modifying operating system application software; performing technical studies to design new method of upgrading and enhancing information technology systems; and reviewing and analyzing Information Technology projects to determine the most cost efficient method to meet agency requirements.
