The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the world's largest organization dedicated to improving mathematics education for all students. NCTM is the public voice of math education, providing vision, leadership, and professional development to teachers. NCTM is seeking a Director of Membership and Marketing to lead and direct Membership, Marketing, and Communications functions and align them with and deliver on the strategic goals of the organization. The successful candidate will be part of NCTM's leadership team and work closely with all functions to ensure consistent messaging and positive representation of the Council among members and to external audiences. This role is critical to advancing NCTM's mission by implementing strategic communications and plans and identifying and managing critical and emerging opportunities to support the Council. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement a strategic plan with comprehensive membership initiatives that increase member retention and membership, increase value to members, and increase awareness of NCTM. Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, coordinated membership marketing strategies to communicate "Why NCTM?" and its value to members with a focus on their first 24 months as members, and promote NCTM's member value, events, and publications to members and potential members across roles. Generate and use market research to develop and refine strategies. Lead and manage the Membership and Marketing Department. Plan, implement, and evaluate membership recruitment and retention strategies based on data, research, and trends. Oversee all membership processes, including recruitment, renewal, and reinstatement with supporting data analysis and regular reporting, including to the Board of Directors. Lead efforts to increase value to members with a focus on cross-department collaborations. Ensure the integrity of the membership database. Coordinate database processes with data entry and customer care functions. Manage prospect database and integrate into strategic initiatives. Negotiate contracts and manage performance of outside vendors. Lead Council outreach with Affiliate groups and associated membership and affiliate committees. Develop and implement NCTM's marketing/communications program, ensuring consistent and effective messaging, continuous analysis of impact and investment, and retooling accordingly. Manage all NCTM marketing and communications, including products, events, and membership. Develop and execute annual communication plans corresponding to Council activities and member activities that raise the relevance of NCTM and mathematics education, and communicate the Council's priorities, program investments, and contributions to mathematics education. Development and implement a unified, dynamic, and consistent member communication plan that focuses on supporting and inspiring teachers. Lead, support, and collaborate across departments in the development, organization, and implementation of campaigns to support Council goals for membership, conferences, events, professional development, and publications . Lead NCTM's social media, advertising, and email campaigns to grow NCTM's audience. Oversee the production of a wide range of editorial content for both member and public audiences in written and multimedia formats. Track, analyze, and use data across mediums and campaigns to evaluate and adjust strategies accordingly. Set and manage goals and objectives for the department and individual staff members.
