While at the assigned outreach site, the Athletic Trainer operates in these five domains:Injury and Illness Prevention and Wellness Promotion:Attendance at athletic games and practicesApplication of protective and prophylactic devicesAdvise athletes on proper use of equipmentEducation of athletic injuries and conditionsEducation of athletes on nutritional aspects of performanceExamination, Assessment and Diagnosis:On-field assessment of acute athletic injuriesAssessment of emergency conditions or situationsEvaluation of chronic athletic injuries or conditionsRecognition of general medical conditionsImmediate and Emergency Care:Acute first aid for all injuries and conditionsCoordination/Activation of emergency medical careTherapeutic Intervention:Application of modalities to athletic injuries Instruction of rehabilitation exercises for athletic injuriesInstruction on methods of maintaining overall body conditioning while injuredEducation of the injury and direction of careSupervision of athletes return to activityReferral of athletes to more specialized care for injury managementCoordination of outside care and treatmentsHealth Care Administration and Professional Responsibility:Maintenance of Athletic Training RoomInventory of all Athletic Training Room Supplies and resourcesAccurate documentation of all daily treatments, injuries, and referralsCollection of all correspondence with treating physicianRoutine communication between parent or guardian, coach, and treating therapist or physicianMaintain a high level of professionalism at all times to positively impact the communityComply with all confidentiality and disclosure requirementsComplies with all local, state, and federal rules, requirements, regulations, and laws related to Athletic TrainingReports any suspected or known violation of a rule, requirement, or law to proper authoritiesRequired Education, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor''s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited college/universityBOC certifiedState license or be eligible for state licenseby Jobble
