About the Role:The Senior Manager, Learner Insights, manages passionate brand management experts serving the education market. This market includes secondary, post-secondary, and third-party education entities. In this role, you will provide effective leadership across an Agile team and be responsible for supporting the vision, leadership, and product market strategies through cross-functional collaboration across the enterprise. A primary goal of the position is to oversee the product line success by managing the Product Managers, working in partnership with the Business Analysis team, who successfully oversee, formulate, and execute the Education Solutions product roadmap and market strategies for the applicable product.You will work in conjunction with the Education Solutions leadership and staff to ensure diversification and ongoing convergence / enhancement efforts to existing product and service lines and develop new market driven products and services. The Senior Manager works closely with headquarters and field staff, particularly the business and IT units, to articulate, plan and execute a client centered product strategy, understand the diversity of product clientele channels, constantly capture the competitive landscape, cultivate innovation ideation and product prioritization aligned with the organization and market demands.How You Contribute:Team leadership and development of a product management approach for the education insights solutions.Support and fine-tune a product management methodology and evangelize that within the organization.Lead the development of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.Create consensus for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.Lead the definition and management of high-quality product roadmaps toward the team's strategy and vision.Work closely with software engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to align resources to priorities and deliver features to customers.Manage delivery of current products concurrently with future product planning.Actively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.Hire and develop a team of high-performing Product Managers and Business Analysts.Drive adoption of the product through management of third-party relationships.Lead the execution of market research and customer feedback.Coordinate customer focus and advisory groups.Identify potential opportunities and prioritize product and release backlog based on customer needs and value propositions.Provide assessments and advice on RFP strategies.Outline product strategy in cooperation with Business Development and other relevant Clearinghouse departments.Along with direct reports, play a leadership role in all elements of the client implementation process, in partnership with the Customer Care Department and the overall product/service Go-To-Market strategies.Manage the delivery of innovative client education programs, trainings, and service line advisory groups on existing and new products and services with one Clearinghouse voice but customized for each of our respective student and institutional channels spanning Secondary and Post-Secondary Education, Organizations, Industry and Workforce and others.Develop and foster strategic relationships with key education institution clients and act as a subject matter expert to the rest of the company on the Education Services products and service lines.Demonstrate NSC s competencies, which align with our corporate valueManagement Competencies include: Making Complex Decisions, Being Flexible and Adaptive, Building Collaborative Relationships, Focusing on Performance, and Optimizing Diverse Talent.Manager will provide more detail to candidates as needed.Workforce ManagementInterview, hire, motivate, and manage staff to maximize productivity and efficiency.Ensure staff is adequately trained and provide guidance as needed.Monitor employee performance and conduct appraisals.Reward employees using formal and informal methods.Position may be required to perform other duties as required. A combination of education and experience, including military service, will also be considered.8 years of experience building and managing product development, program management, technical and go-to-market strategies with a strong business acumen.5+ years supervisory/managerial experience.Proven networking and relationship building skills with different types of organizations (state agencies, foundations, non-profits).Proven ability to:Effectively, and often simultaneously, communicate at operational, technical, and strategic levels to internal and external customers.Ability to implement a comprehensive product management discipline.Facilitating cross-departmental issue identification, problem solving, and resolution.Work and achieve results as a team and adapt to a dynamic, fast paced industry and environment.Familiarity with post-secondary access and success metrics.Familiarity with electronic data exchange, analytics, and reporting services.Comfortability in customer engagement, especially product ideation.Positive and professional attitude and detail oriented.Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, oral communication, time management and presentation skills.Highly customer-centric servant leader with the ability to understand, execute, and meet customer's needs and expectations.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA.Additional Desired Requirements:Master s degree.Experience within the Education field.Solid understanding of the SDLC and methodologies such as Agile.Training in one or more product management methodologies such as Lean or Pragmatic.Knowledge of the features/benefits of Clearinghouse services.Physical Demands:Use of a computer for 8 or more hours a day.Use of a copy machine and telephone.Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day near others in an open office environment.Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and reach.Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Travel via car, train, and airplane when needed (30%).Job SummaryRequisition Number: SENIO01802Job Category: Product ManagementSchedule: Full-Time
