The latest trends in ship design, specifically power utilization and distribution, are making the research and development of energy storage technologies more critical than ever before. Our team assists in developing efficient means for energy storage using traditional electrochemical batteries, power cells, and lithium ion batteries in both independent and hybrid power generation schemes for use by the Navy and Marine Corps. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer who is a US Citizen with an accredited BS degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering . Minimum 7 years hands-on experience as a research and development test engineer, commissioning engineer, field test engineer, and/or electrical/mechanical systems engineer. Operate and assemble various types of power electronic equipment (electrical loaders, power supplies, shunts, capacitors, relays) Operate and assemble various types of instrumentation (data acquisition systems, thermocouples, pressure transducers, gas analyzers, infrared cameras, HD video, and oscilloscopes) Experience with lithium ion batteries, fuel cells, power distribution systems, power electronics and associated software Effective communicator oral and written Successful working in both a collaborative team environment and independently Ability to troubleshoot equipment, determine the cause and resolve Independently able to create and present project proposals, cost estimates, schedules, test plans, technical presentations, and test reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to thrive in a hands-on, rustic environment with limited training. Responsibilties: Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and schedules for test programs Create test plans and technical presentations for readiness reviews Select, order and obtain materials for test Create test fixtures, select instrumentation, and assemble test Perform non-destructive and destructive tests Collect and analyze test data Create final technical report and provide briefings to the program sponsor
