Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems (a Parsons Company) is seeking a Jr/Mid Systems Engineer / Software Architect that will be responsible for systems architecture, requirements and design for DoD systems. Ideal candidates will have a broad set of technical and domain skills and must be able to successfully work both individually and with a team. Job duties include:* Develop and maintain an integrated architecture for a portfolio of systems.* Standardize interfaces and protocols, so that the individual systems in the portfolio can connect, share information, and provide greater value.* Provide the Enterprise Systems Engineering capability for the Portfolio.* Review, develop, and document system level operational concepts and mission statements.* Research and develop complex systems designs and architectures.* Prepare and review documentation for systems designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.* Verify and validate aspects of systems designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.* Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards.* Develop structural and behavioral UML diagrams.* Interface with internal and external organizations.* Consult with engineering staff, project managers, data processing staff and customers.* Operate often on-site, co-located with customer points of contact.Qualifications:* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited educational institution.* 3-5 years performing hardware/software systems engineering activities.* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.* Systems Modeling Language (SysML)* Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to create technical documentation. Much of the development activity will come from interviews with customer points of contact.* Strong problem-solving skills.* Requirements and Verification Development.* Unified Modeling Language (UML)* Experience with Government standards and procedures for example DODAF Operational Views, System Views and Capability Views* Demonstrated ability to work and communicate well in a remote work environment.* MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rose or similar experience for modeling and architecture. MagicDraw will be used in this position.* Ability to work individually and with a team.* Willing to travel up to 10%.Preferred/Desired Skills:* Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn.* Object Management Group (OMG) and its pillars* Teamwork cloud (TWC) experience* Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, BitBucket/Stash).* Model Based Systems Engineering.* Produce superior work products while leveraging telework services like MS Teams and Webex.* Active/recent Secret clearance._Ready for action?
