This is professional nursing work in providing health services in a school setting

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to
the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; other work may be assigned when deemed
* Responsible for providing for the health needs of an individual student during school hours, and when the
student is transported to and from school.
* Provides direct nursing services, according to provider orders; for routine and emergency situations, and
supports the student• s activities of daily living.
* Use considerable judgment in interpreting and applying them to unusual or nonstandard situations.
* Performs related work as required.

Below are the qualifications for this position:
* Graduation from an accredited vocational training program or college that provides training as a practical nurse.
Experience working as a practical nurse, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would
provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
* Virginia Practical Nursing license
* Knowledge of nursing and health care practices as applied to children and youth
* Ability to provide effective nursing and related health services for students, to keep abreast of medical practices
in the field, to deal effectively with students requiring health assistance, to communicated effectively orally and
in writing, and to work cooperatively with others

Physical Requirements
The following provides a brief description of physical requirements for this position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, bend and
walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools; reach with hands and arms and see and hear. The employee is
occasionally required to sit and may be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.

Additional Details

Salary: $23.25 per hour

Employees in this position must commit to the entire Summer Session:
• ESY • 6/29/20 to 7/31/20
• Elementary Summer School • 7/06/20 to 7/24/20 (proposed workdays July1 and July 2)
• HS Credit Recovery • 6/29/20 to 7/31/20

This is a Non-exempt position.
