CPB is currently seeking to hire a Project Manager, Digital Strategies (Level 7). Salary $62,700 - $85,800. The position reports to the VP, Digital Strategies.

General Description:
The Project Manager will help develop, plan, and manage programs and projects that harness essential technologies, interoperable digital infrastructure solutions and tools that deliver cost-effective capabilities to stations, enabling them to build audience and increase relevance and sustainability.

Specific Duties:
• Works with Digital Strategy leadership to develop initiatives, programs and projects that enable CPB to strengthen the public media system and its individual local stations by improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness, and in enhancing their ability to deliver content across multiple platforms and to diverse audiences.
• Effectively utilizes CPB’s Grants Management System (GMS), a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that houses all documentation needed to obtain internal funding approvals and release payments, in accordance with CPB’s policies and procedures; writes work scopes and defines deliverable schedules; works collaboratively with CPB contracting attorneys to complete the contracting process with vendors and grantees, participating in negotiations, as required.
• Manages the procurement process by developing program and project specifications; writing effective solicitation documents and grant guidelines; reviewing proposals submitted by stations, outside experts, and/or other respondents; and managing review and advisory panels.
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of specific grants and contracts, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion of projects and ongoing compliance with contract provisions, preparing and securing approval for contract amendments, as warranted. Completes close-out processes for completed projects, ensuring that all project expectations have been met and any required documentation and follow-up activities are completed, executed, and maintained.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of projects and strategic initiatives and identifies opportunities to improve or enhance their impact.
• Collaborates with departments and staff throughout CPB (Executive Office, Television Content, Radio, Journalism and CSG Services, Education, Government Relations and Communications) on project development and proposal review, the development of engagement strategies, as well as communications strategies and products for distribution to external and internal audiences through media releases, social media, and events.
• Promotes effective working relationships with local and national public media organizations, as
well as other non-profits and industries.
• Communicates effectively regarding CPB projects, including reports, memos, white papers and presentations, to advance awareness and understanding of CPB and the mission of public media. Works with outside speakers on their presentations for CPB and public media industry meetings to ensure clear and effective messaging. May represent CPB as speaker, presenter, or participant at meetings and conferences.
• Maintains current knowledge of emerging media technologies, as well as strategic planning and project management processes, applying best practices in the performance of job duties.
• Supports, as needed, other CPB activities and projects with research, data and analysis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business management, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum four years’ experience in a professional position requiring skills in project management, grants or contract administration and/or management, budget development and/or management, and/or business planning and analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and skills related to project management and the execution of all phases of the project process (e.g., establishing goals, planning, organizing and managing budgetary resources), as well as managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong ability to read financial reports and analyze budgets.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated proficiency in preparing and delivering presentations.
• Results-orientated, with a demonstrated ability to organize, synthesize and analyze information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and develop and manage business relationships.
• Technical proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Some travel required, as appropriate.
Desired Qualifications:
• Cable, broadcast, or digital media experience.
• Experience managing technology grants as well as vendor projects including workplans, budgeting and contract management. Familiarity with product lifecycle management.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPA) and/or PMP Certification.
• Knowledge of digital media platforms and their use in delivering content to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership and innovativeness, particularly in improving efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
