Instructional Designer Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with faculty members to design, develop, and support high-quality online courses and materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty members in creating course goals and measurable learning objectives.
  • Work with media production team to implement instructional concepts to build digital materials that promote active learning.
  • Assist faculty in developing assessment measures to evaluate the instructional effectiveness of design approaches.
  • Review existing online courses to identify and suggest design revisions to promote active learning.

Instructional Designer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in instructional design, learning science or related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience designing courses within a higher-education setting.
  • Experience designing courses within a learning management system (preferably Blackboard) and/or course authoring tools such as Storyline 2 (Articulate 360) and with project management and project management software.
  • Experience with best-practices for making learning accessible to students with disabilities and experience with open educational resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Matters, Quality Scorecard, or similar rubrics.
