The Mechanic II maintains, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operating systems; light, medium, heavy-duty, and specialized equipment; police cruisers and vehicles. To apply, you must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Automotive and Diesel Repair, Automotive Electronic Diagnostic Procedures or closely related area. A minimum of four years full-time vehicle and equipment repairs, and maintenance or closely related experience is required.
