The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. The Lourie Center has four core programs serving children birth through age 12 and their families: Head Start, The Lourie Center School, The Therapeutic Nursery Program and Parent-Child Clinical Services.

The Lourie Center seeks to hire an experienced Child Development Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As the Child Development Specialist, you will:
•Work with children ages birth to four with developmental delays and their families as part of the Montgomery County Infants & Toddlers Program (MCITP).
•Provide family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a home-based family coaching model.
•Provide family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a family coaching model. 15%
•Educate families about MCITP services and obtain background information as needed for assessment report. 15%
•Participate in eligibility and family assessments and assist in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan
•Administer social emotional assessment tools, interpret results and write reports.
•Conduct clinical observations in homes, child care centers and the community. 15%
•Provide service coordination to families and collaborate with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams. 15%

Qualifications Include: .
•Ability to work with families from various ethnic and socio-economic groups.
•Solid understanding of family centered practice and family coaching model preferred.
•Master's degree in social work or related field.
•Minimum of two years' experience with children, preferably birth to four years old.
•Minimum licensure of LGSW or LGPC; LCSW or LCPC preferred.
