Job Details

Oversees application architecture and deployment in cloud platform environments for the Marine Corps Community Services.  Providing technical support with all cloud instances including but not limited to Office 365, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This may include cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.  Ensures delivery of the secure cloud boundary and modernization solution within project scope and timelines. Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Manages implementation of secure cloud boundary in a FedRAMP high and DOD Impact Level-4/5 environment.

 

Provides guidance and feedback to IT leadership on critical cloud initiatives. Provides briefs to IT leadership on cloud system usage, consumption and performance.  Conducts capacity planning and performance analysis. 

 

Develops and maintains standards for best practices in cloud and hybrid environments. Develops methodology to ensure the application of appropriate security measures to assignments. Develops protocol to ensure integrity of data by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.  Develops, interprets and applies IT policies, standards and guidelines. Develops business cases and business outcomes for cloud services. Conducts analyses and recommends resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area.  Evaluates and recommends new or enhanced improvements to delivery services.  Identifies and defines technical requirements for development and implementation. 

 

Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment.  Oversees maintenance and enforcement of the security of resources and develops procedures to minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND three years of cloud system management experience and leading a team of Cloud Administrators, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above; OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. 

 

Practical experience in Microsoft Office 365, Azure and/or AWS cloud instances, workloads, or service provisioning for government clients preferred.  Thorough understanding of cloud automation and demonstrate ability to fully automate a cloud environment utilizes scripts or other management tools.  Skill to translate requirements into well-architected, integrated Cloud solutions. Skill to lead other employees to accomplish work assignments. Experience managing implementation of secure cloud boundary in a FedRAMP high and DOD Impact Level-4/5 environment. Project management and/or DAU Contracting Level III certified candidates with the above experience are highly qualified for this position.

 

This position has been designated as a position of trust. The incumbent must be eligible for an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) background investigation to satisfy IT Level II designation.  Appointment and continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation.

 

As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness certification by completing the DoD8570/8140 requirements (i.e. Security + Certification) as a condition of access within six months of employment, and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training.
