Machinist - CNC and Manual Operator

Schnabel is currently seeking a qualified CNC operator to fill the position of Machinist and Fabricator. This position will be responsible for manufacturing and fabrication of equipment repair parts and components for a fleet of specialized heavy equipment.
Schnabel is looking for an individual who can set up and operate a CNC mill and a CNC lathe in both manual and conversational CNC modes. This individual will be expected to read engineered drawings and plan prototype fabrications including work holding and tool selection as well as program/operate the machines. You must be able to read drawings, set up machines and work independently and be responsible for verifying final fit and assembly of components.
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience
- 5 years of experience (to include set-up and programming experience)
- High school diploma/GED required
- Technical schooling desired
- Read drawings
- Program conversational CNC
- Tooling selection
- Mill and Lathe operation
- Fitting and assembly
- Strong mechanical aptitude and good math and measuring skills
