The Dist/Linen Technician will be responsible to distribute and retrieve patient supplies, materials, instruments and equipment for nursing units according to prescribed procedures, techniques and universal precautions. Will maintain PAR levels of inventory items on patient units. Will complete computerized inventory records of supplies and materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Work Experience
1 year

Specific Requirements and Preferences
Related experience (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Basic calculations.
Ability to enter inventory information into computer system

Functional Accountabilities

Materials Availability
1. Issue supplies and equipment to user department as required. As required, may assist in linen distribution when needed.
2. Maintain computerized inventory records of materials supplies and equipment.
3. Issue and pick up patient charge cards daily .

Quality Assurance
1. Ensure work is accomplished in a technically correct manner consistent with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
2. Participate in product recall procedure.
3. Ensure quality assurance standards are met by rotating supplies in department and nursing units on a weekly basis.

Work Station
1. Maintain work station in clean and orderly fashion, break down boxes, dispose of trash and use supplies according to established procedures.
2. Maintain par-levels on emergency or disaster carts as scheduled before and during use.
