As the Salesforce Developer Lead, you will integrate business needs and technical solutions to manage and execute the implementation of Salesforce solutions.

Salesforce Developer Lead

Serves in the Applications Development and Operations division in the Office of Technology at the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), or Headquarters Office Building.

Interfaces with business and technical teams to convert business needs into working software that adheres to Salesforce best practices and Airports Authority architectural standards. Requires hands-on participation in SDLC/Agile processes to design and develop Salesforce solutions and support integration to third party systems. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops the full application architecture and builds solutions that integrate business needs and technical solutions to manage and execute the implementation of Salesforce solutions in the SalesForce.com environment (including but not limited to Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud).

Leads Application Architecture, application design, platform configuration and administration, project planning activities, requirement prioritization and resource allocation across all project tasks. Shoulders delivery responsibilities and ensures that all work is completed based on quality standards and scheduled plans.

Leads the implementation of Salesforce and integration solutions using Agile methodology, development of continuous integration, test driven development, and Agile productivity tools.

Oversees design and development of enterprise data repository and integration solutions using Web Services, Extract/Transform/Load (ETL), Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) technologies.

Provides expert-level technical support in developing and customizing applications using Apex classes, VisualForce pages, Force.com, workflows, Application Programming Interface (API) and Web Services.

Serves as expert-level technical support in migrating data from disparate sources into and out of Salesforce environment.

Provides expert-level technical support in testing, analyzing bug and crash reports, fixing problems, and optimizing performance (demonstrating extensive knowledge Salesforce Web Services, middleware integration with Salesforce, JavaScript, XML, JSON, FTP, SOAP, REST Web Services and Mobile Application Platform and their application to Salesforce and analytics).

Ensures compliance with appropriate Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards in the delivery of Salesforce and integration projects by contractors and vendors, including the usage of tools, platforms, methodologies and controls; test plans to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency with the finished product(s).

Performs quality assurance reviews on contractor/vendor submitted artifacts, and serves on peer review panels.

Maintains the repository for source code; ensures that all source code is reliably backed up and versioned to prevent disruption to the project team(s) work.

Assists in the development of guidelines and standards for in-house code development; ensures that any vendor supplied code conforms to the Office's standards for maintenance and enhancements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Eight years of progressively responsible experience as a Technical/Solution Architect.

Four of the eight years of experience must include architecting solutions on Salesforce.com.

Comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce.com platform configuration, administration, and architecture.

Comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce.com platform of Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Marketing Cloud to develop Salesforce solutions.

Ability to perform a full array of project management and technical leadership functions, including planning, assigning, and reviewing work and monitoring work operations.

Comprehensive knowledge of Apex classes, VisualForce pages, Force.com, workflows, Application Programming Interface (API) and Web Services to develop and customize applications.

Knowledge of Salesforce object/data model to develop custom objects and junction objects.

Knowledge of Cloud, SaaS, iPaaS, Mobile, database, Internet and Security technologies to integrate data between systems, applications and data warehouse using ETL tool such as Informatica Cloud to develop Salesforce solutions.

Knowledge of Salesforce Web Services, middleware integration with Salesforce, JavaScript, XML, JSON, FTP, SOAP, REST Web Services, HTML5, CSS and Mobile Application Platform and ability to develop and customize applications in Salesforce platform.

Knowledge of business processes and IT project delivery methodologies, such as Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodology, the development of continuous integration, test driven development, Agile productivity tools and EA standards, and the ability to develop Salesforce application solutions and contribute to the development of projects and enhancement/migrations.

Ability to make detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Experience developing applications with knowledge of Salesforce App Cloud, Lightning, and Mobile Application Platforms.

Experience in data modeling, data warehouse, and data visualization.

Certification from Salesforce and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from Project Management Institute.

Certification as a Salesforce Certified Administrator.

Certification as a Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II.

Certification as a Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer.

Certification as a Salesforce Certified Application Architect.

EDUCATION

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED

A state driver's license in good standing.

NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS

Work is typically reviewed in progress upon completion for quality, quantity, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
