Tenure-Track Assistant Professor - Criminology, Law and Society

George Mason University's Department of Criminology, Law and Society invites applicants for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to start August 2021. The department is seeking candidates with significant accomplishments in research, teaching and service.

About the Department of Criminology, Law and Society: The Department of Criminology, Law and Society is a top-ranked, multidisciplinary unit that offers degrees at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Our graduate program balances theory, empirical research, and policy applications. Our undergraduate program has concentrations in law and society, criminal justice, and homeland security. The department embraces a wide range of methodological approaches and scholarship that contribute to the goals of a fairer, more socially just, and effective criminal justice system. Responsibilities: * Active research in any area(s) of criminology, criminal justice, and law and society that complement existing strengths of the department; * Teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; * Mentoring and supervising graduate student research; * Providing service to the department, college and university by participation on faculty committees.

Required Qualifications: * The department is seeking candidates with active research agendas in any area of criminology, criminal justice, and law and society; * Corrections and cybercrime preferred, but all applications will be considered; * A Ph.D. in a relevant field of study or applicants near the completion of their doctorate will be considered; * Strong evidence of committed to teaching in a multidisciplinary environment and working with a diverse student population; * Must be able to demonstrate promise in scholarly research.
