We are on the hunt for an outgoing, dynamic, driven, client-facing Sales Associate / Account Manager (internal title is Market Development Analyst) to join our Enterprise Solutions Team at The Washington Post. The ideal candidate will have a combination of account management and sales experience since this role will utilize both skill sets. The Sales Associate / Account Manager will be the first contact that potential clients will have with the Washington Post and this person will be heavily involved in the process that sells Washington Post subscriptions to Fortune 500 companies as well as colleges and universities.   • Retain & grown active accounts while you build & maintain strong client relationships
  • Onboard new clients & ensure successful set-up of these new accounts
  • Interact with the client about administering & growing the account
  • Fast paced environment: sales cycle is typically 30 to 90 days
  • Maintain records on advertiser activity using
  • Follow and apply industry trends as they pertain to your clients
  • Problem-solve and respond to clients in an effective manner
  • Work independently and autonomously
  • Communicate with numerous departments within the Washington Post organization

  • 1-3 years of account management and/or sales experience
  • Goal-oriented & results-driven; you have exceeded goals & objectives in past positions
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow-through skills
  • Ability to effectively manage & service 75+ accounts
  • Adapt to stress in a deadline-driven environment
  • Effective communication skills that strengthen client relationships with the proven ability to communicate in a creative and persuasive manner
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to talk to people you do not know
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience with is preferred
