Job Summary:
Westat is seek an Accessibility Specialist to provide assistance and advice on information and communication technology (ICT) accessibility policies, and serves as a source of expertise concerning Section 508/WCAG 2.0 accessibility remediation reporting to the Section 508 Coordinator. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and capable of applying current technologies to ensure WCAG2.0 conformance. 

Job Responsibilities:
• Keep current with Federal, State, and other accessibility requirements and update existing corporate accessibility information.
• Provide clear technical guidance and assistance to ensure accessibility for all ICT products, and work directly with designers and developers to resolve complex accessibility issues.
• Develop 508-compliant HTML and multimedia products using tools such as Dreamweaver, Camtasia, and/or Captivate 2019, and review the work of others.
• Test products as requested using the Trusted Tester methodology and tools such as ANDI, assistive technology (e.g, screen reader) and keyboard functionality.
• Organize brown bags, workshops, and help support developer trainings.

Basic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree and at least 2-5 years implementing Section 508 Standards, WCAG 2.0, and related accessibility laws, regulations, as applicable to ICT.
• 2 years developing 508-compliant HTML, CSS, and multimedia including online training (responsive HTML a plus).
• Proficiency with Adobe products (current versions of Acrobat, Captivate, Dreamweaver).

Preferred Qualifications:
• HTM/CSS and/or Adobe ACE certification in Captivate preferred.
• Knowledge of Drupal, JQuery, ARIA, and 508-compliant video players a plus.

Candidates must be detail oriented, able to work both independently and on a team, and have the ability to organize and present information in a clear, concise manner.
