Summary

The AARP Data Analytics and Performance Management group is looking for a graduate student to join the Marketing Services and Analysis team as a Fall Intern. Our ideal candidate is interested in database marketing and audience segmentation and is detail-oriented with good analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. They should also be comfortable handling large amounts of data and communicating insights and recommendations drawn from data analysis.

Responsibilities

The selected intern will be responsible for:

•Providing marketing campaign results analysis based on audience segmentation
•Assisting the team with test design and audience recommendations
•Assisting the team with creating profiles of specific audiences
•Assisting the team in creating topic-specific engager files based on campaign results to be used as targeting criteria for future campaigns
•Conducting other ad hoc analyses related to member engagement and fundraising
•Assisting the team with data visualization projects

Requirements

Prospective interns must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the following related majors: Marketing, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Business.

Interns must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students; and remain academically enrolled throughout the duration of the internship.

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Proficiency in Word, Power Point and Excel
•Experience with an audience segmentation Tool such as Adobe, IBM Campaigns, or Alterion is a plus but not required
•Experience in handling direct marketing campaigns is a plus
•Experience with data analysis using Excel, Access, SQL, or SAS is a plus
